Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have more questions?  Get in touch

Are you a third-party debt collector?

We are not a third-party debt collector. As Meadow, we act on behalf of your institution. Any communication from us is for informational purposes regarding your account and does not constitute debt collection under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

How old is the debt you can work with?

We can work with accounts that are past due for 270 days or less (9 months).

Does Meadow offer payment plans?

Yes, Meadow offers self-service payment plans with up to 12 monthly installments, tailored to fit your policies with custom guardrails. What makes them great?

  • User-Friendly: Students enjoy a simple, seamless experience.
  • Automatic Rebalancing: Plans adjust automatically as balances change.
  • Autopay: Students can set it and forget it.
  • Flexible Due Dates: You choose the due dates, and we make it happen.

Why do students open your communications and not ours?

We focus on quality over quantity, using a data-driven approach. By tracking student actions through your SIS and their activity in Meadow, we send personalized messages at just the right time to maximize engagement. We reach students through multiple channels, including school email, personal email, and SMS, with targeted, tailored messages that resonate—no more generic "if you..." statements.

Is Meadow Pre a website or an app that students download?

Meadow Pre develops a website that is fully branded to your institution with your URL (e.g. pre.yourschool.edu). While it was designed to work great on a mobile device; it works just as well on a computer! To eliminate friction, students don’t need to download anything—they simply access Meadow Pre via a payment link, which we include in all communications (email and SMS).

Is Meadow a payment processor?

We process secure and convenient payments through our partnership with Finix, a leading global payment processor. Thanks to this partnership, Meadow holds multiple audited accreditations, including PCI DSS, NACHA, and SOC 2 Type 2 compliance.

What tools are provided to identify and prevent payment fraud?

Meadow uses advanced measures, including machine learning and payment verification, to detect and prevent fraud. Our partnership with Finnix, a leading payment processor, ensures your payments are safeguarded at every step.

Recover revenue, re-enroll students, and avoid traditional collections.
